Castleton Methodist Church

Minister:  Rev Richard Towle    Tel 01433 650305

Services are at 10.45am on Sundays with a Warm Welcome and Coffee afterwards.

Prayer and Worship are the core of our Christian Belief that God is at work in our Church, expressing our Christian Witness through the ministry of welcome and care in the Church, and care in the Community and to all Visitors.

Castleton is in the Peak National Park and the Methodist Church is situated on the main road out of the village towards Blue John Cavern.

Visitors are most welcome to share in worship with us or come to any of the events.

Castleton Church was built in 1898 at a cost of £2,000. The builder being Mr Albert Wheat. It has beautiful woodwork and excellent acoutics. The opening service on June 23 was conducted by Rev C.H. Kelly, ex President of Methodist Conference. In the 1930's the beautiful window of the Good Shepherd was donated by J.A. Stead, a Sheffield Cutler.

Adjoining the Church is the Walker Community Room. An attractive venue for church and community events. An excellent and well equiped kitchen is also available. The Blue John Font and Cross were presented to the church on the 50th Anniversary by Mr John Walker.
